Paul was raised in Whakatane.
He has a background in Engineering, forest harvest management and logistics.
He has turned his hand to a wide variety of trades and occupations over the years in fields as diverse as fencing, skippering a boat and working on ranches in Missouri.
One of his more unusual jobs was on horseback and masked, holding up the Kingston Flyer at gunpoint.
When he is not running the business here, he is happiest on his horse somewhere in the wilderness.
